The usual Frontline Walk is as detailed below and is something that Guy has done 3 times and Ceri twice.  Covid has put paid to the big events this year so ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has instigated the ‘Virtual Frontline Walk’ which is 100km at your own pace in your own time but the 100km must be completed by the 11th November.

This year Team Dug-out Rats is joined by our sister Kirsty and her husband Keith.  You can see the team page for donations here.

The Frontline Walk is an epic 100km (62 miles in old money) trek in 3 days along The Western Front, starting at The Lochnagar Crater in the Somme and finishing 3 days later under the Menin Gate in Ypres.

The second day of walking, another 22 miles across the Loos and Lens battlefields.  See the route here.

Day 4 – 12th October 2019

The last day of walking, an easy 18 miles across the Ypres Salient finishing under the Menin Gate with the ceremony of The Last Post.  See the route here.

Day 5 – 13th October 2019

Return to London, tired, broken, sore, hopefully with a sense of achievement and pride, but also not forgetting those poor souls who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
