Tuesday 3rd October we are off to London to meet up with old friends and new. We have the delights of the easyHotel in Victoria (£5 extra if you want a window in your room) for one night, then we assemble at Wellington Barracks for 07:30 the following morning. This week is all about minimising injury so no real training walks planned. Foot care is still top of the list!
The kit list is checked and checked again, the boots are cleaned and re-proofed (again), I’ve emptied the local supermarket of energy snacks (almonds, trailmix, corny bars and the like), and Ceri has put together the medi-kit. It’s handy having a paramedic as your walking partner!
This evening I am delivering a presentation about ABF The Soldier’s Charity, and my 2015 Frontline Walk, to Aldershot Military Lodge of Mark Masters No.54. They sponsored me in 2015, and have done so again this year. Fundraising continues until late December 2017 so there is still time to donate to this worthy cause – www.justgiving.com/companyteams/levelsteps
